Alex Ovechkin isn’t all power-play time and sushi dates.
The Great 8 is also a bona fide stud in Russian pop culture.
At least that is the conclusion we draw when watching 40-year-old pop-music icon Katya Lel’s “provocative” new music video.
“We have been friends with Katya for a long time,” Ovechkin told mk.ru of the video he shot in early September. “I liked the song, and the main idea of the video, so I gladly agreed to participate in it.”
Ovie’s participation largely involves standing manly and striking a blue-steel glare as Lel drapes herself all over him. Then he fires some pucks at a net she’s swaying in. Producer Sergey Tkachenko warned the clip would feature “unusual and somewhat provocative images.”
Lel has been a popular recording artist in Russia for 20 years now. She tapped Pavel Bure for a cameo in one of her videos 10 years ago during the lockout.
Thankfully, Ovie doesn’t rap in this one.
