Amanda Kessel is done playing college hockey.

The 23-year-old hockey star, and younger sister of Pittsburgh Penguins sniper Phil Kessel, will not suit up for her senior year with the University of Minnesota Gophers due to health concerns, confirms the Grand Forks Herald.

Lingering concussion symptoms kept Kessel off the ice for the 2014-15 season as well.

The 2013 Patty Kazmaier award winner accumulated 97 goals and 134 assists in three college seasons. Had head injuries not ended her NCAA career short, she may well have become the league’s all-time highest scorer.

Kessel, who sustained a concussion while playing for the U.S. national team, has not played since winning a silver medal at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

“It’s just not worth it for her and her health,” Gophers coach Brad Frost told the Herald.

Despite playing without Kessel last season, Minnesota won its third national title in four years.
