Anaheim Ducks reassign forward Ondrej Kase to AHL affiliate

Ondrej Kase made no mistake after Mike Smith froze with the puck in his crease in overtime, scoring to get the Ducks a win.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Anaheim Ducks have reassigned rookie left wing Ondrej Kase to their AHL affiliate in San Diego.

The Ducks announced the move Thursday.

Kase has five goals and nine assists in 51 games this season for the Ducks. The 21-year-old Czech forward is scoreless in his last seven games, and Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle scratched him in three of the Ducks’ last four games.

Kase has scored in just one of his last 19 appearances for the Ducks since Jan. 19, and he has just one goal since Jan. 6.
