Canadiens forward Andrew Shaw has had an eventful return to the Montreal lineup against the New York Rangers.
He had a goal disallowed, and was later given a five-minute major for interference after his hit on Rangers forward Jesper Fast.
Shaw had missed the Canadiens’ previous 14 games with a concussion.
The 25-year-old was suspended three pre-season games for boarding back in September, and avoided supplemental discipline after being assessed a match penalty for slew-footing in his regular-season debut.
Fast was hurt on the play and went to the Rangers dressing room for repairs.
