Avalanche ink defenceman Fedor Tyutin to one-year deal

The Colorado Avalanche have signed free agent defenceman Fedor Tyutin to a one-year deal, the team announced Friday.

The deal is worth a reported $2 million.

The 32-year-old Russian spent the last eight years with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but was bought out by the club on June 29 with two years remaining on his contract.

Tyutin, a three-time Olympian, has tallied 54 goals and 251 points in 803 career NHL games over the course of 12 seasons split between Columbus and the New York Rangers.
