Ben Bishop to unveil glow-in-the-dark mask

Nathan MacKinnon's month-long goal drought ended with his first career hat trick, leading the Colorado Avalanche to a 5-4 win over the Lightning.

Like the best kind of mini golf courses* and this new ice cream we’re afraid to eat, Ben Bishop’s new mask glows in the dark.

Yes, thanks to the fancy-pants GLOW Tech FX created by DaveArt’s David Gunnarsson, the Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender’s new bucket will shine when the lights dim for the pre-game anthem(s). It also features holograms and may or may not hover on its own.

The airbrush artist explained that he drew inspiration for Bishop’s mask from the movie Tron: Legacy, which drew inspiration from the 1982 classic Tron, which probably drew inspiration from some aggressive hallucinogens.

Bishop gets the start Friday as the Lightning host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Heads up.
