Ben Bishop shares hideous photo of cut above eye

Dallas Stars goalie Ben Bishop has to head to the dressing room after taking a rocket to the face that leaves him a little bloody.

This one’s not for the squeamish.

Dallas Stars goaltender Ben Bishop shared a photo of the eye injury that’s kept him out of his team’s last game and a bit, and it isn’t pretty.

Bishop saved a shot with his face in Dallas’ season opener against Vegas on Friday and had to leave the game. The Stars were leading 1-0 at the time, and lost 2-1.

He missed Saturday’s loss against the St. Louis Blues as well.

Dallas brought Bishop in May hoping to shore up the goaltending position after two seasons of disappointing crease coverage by Finnish duo Antti Niemi (currently sporting a 26.67 goals-against average) and Kari Lehtonen.

The 6-foot-7 Bishop might want to get a less gaping cage on his mask.
