Edmonton Oilers forward Ben Eager is facing assault charges after an alleged fight at a Toronto bar early Saturday morning, according to City News.
Eager and his brother Michael each face charges of assault, assault with bodily harm and assault with weapon after an altercation with a doorman at The Quail and Firkin Pub on Yonge Street in the Rosedale area.
“We are used to dealing with young professionals. Last night stopped staff dead in their tracks and is not typical of what happens at our establishment. Once the fight started, service ended immediately. Our staff was in shock. And we are concerned for our doorman who was brutally attacked and hurt,” Jennine Lombardo, The Quail’s general manager, told City News.
The doorman was taken to hospital with cuts to his face after attempting to shield himself from the attack by holding up a patio chair.
Lombardo said the incident was caught by security cameras and the footage will be turned over to police on Sunday.
