All it took was 59 saves, an incredible shutout and a brand-new NHL record to get Ben Scrivens trending across Canada.

“Being starved for inspiration, being starved for wins, Ben gave us some hope tonight,” Edmonton Oilers coach Dallas Eakins said after the historic performance. “You preach all the time that you need your whole team to win a game, and tonight I’m rethinking it.”

Teammates both current and former chimed in with their respect, offering digital apples to the Professor, as did the impressed media and Edmonton Oilers fans with access to Photoshop.
