SASKATOON — Scott Darling made 26 saves as the Chicago Blackhawks shut out the Edmonton Oilers 5-0 on Sunday in NHL pre-season action.

Garrett Ross and Teuvo Teravainen scored 54 seconds apart in the second period to give Chicago (2-2) a 3-0 lead. Bryan Bickell scored in the first period, while Andrew Shaw and Kris Versteeg rounded out the scoring for the Blackhawks in the third.

Versteeg scored after he was sent in on a one-on-one chance against Oilers goaltender Richard Bachman thanks to a nice set-up pass from Bickell.

Bachman made 17 stops starting in goal for the Oilers (2-2).

The exhibition was held in front of 10,303 spectators at Saskatoon’s Credit Union Centre.
