St. Louis Blues forward Patrik Berglund will undergo surgery on his right shoulder, the team announced Thursday.
According to the Blues, the injury stemmed from a dislocated shoulder initially sustained during the 2013-14 regular season, which Berglund re-injured while training.
The procedure will take place Friday, and Berglund will be re-evaluated in four months.
Berglund, 27, registered 12 goals and 27 points in 77 games last season, totalling 118 goals and 247 points in his seven-year NHL career with the Blues.
