WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers reported an overall operating profit of $2.9 million in 2013.
That’s up $2.2 million from 2012.
The Bombers say season-ticket sales and revenue hit a record high with some 24,620 sold for the first season at Investors Group Field, generating $8.66 million. That’s a 34 per cent increase over 2012.
The Bombers weren’t as successful on the field last year, finishing last in the CFL with a 3-15 record.
"We are pleased with the financial results for 2013 and look forward to improving upon them as we continue to settle into our new home at Investors Group Field," Blue Bombers president and CEO Wade Miller said Monday in a release.
The Bombers’ net surplus is $7.9 million, an increase of $2.07 million from last year.
