Bruins’ Krug out weeks with broken finger

Bruins rookie Seth Griffith scored twice, but the Minnesota Wild rallied in the third, scoring three goals to get them a 4-3 win.

The Boston Bruins’ defence corps has been dealt another blow.

Torey Krug will be out two to three weeks, the club announced, after suffering a broken finger in the Bruins’ 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild Tuesday night. Krug joins captain Zdeno Chara and Kevan Miller on the sidelines.

Defensemen Joe Morrow, 21, and David Warsofsky, 24, were recalled from AHL affiliate Providence Wednesday and will travel with the team to Buffalo. Morrow has yet to make his NHL debut; Warsofsky notched two points in six games with the big club last season.

Bruins defenceman Matt Bartkowski, though healthy, has struggled this season. He is a minus-4 on the year and was benched in the third period of Tuesday’s loss, which dropped the Bruins’ record (5-6-0) below .500.

Krug is believed to have sustained his injury from a slash late in the third period (watch above) from Wild forward Zach Parise.
