Should Brandon Tanev be suspended for hit on Colton Sissons?

Watch as Brandon Tanev wipes out Colton Sissons with a massive hit from behind.

Nashville Predators forward Colton Sissons won’t return to Friday night’s game against the Jets after being hit from behind by Winnipeg’s Brandon Tanev.

Sissons was collecting the puck on a breakout out of his own zone when Tanev came in and connected with the Predator (video above).

On the centre ice video angle, it appears as though Tanev had Sissions lined up for a shoulder-to-shoulder hit, but Sissons turned slightly at the last second.

Tanev was assessed a major penalty for boarding on the play.

Sissons wasn’t the only Nashville forward to go down in the game as James Neal also left the game after taking a high stick.

What do you think? Should Tanev receive any supplemental discipline?
