Brendan Gallagher leaves game with lower-body injury

Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher is unsure if he’ll be able to participate in the upcoming World Championships, which are to be held in Russia this May.

Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher has left Saturday’s game with an apparent lower-body injury, the team announced.

Gallagher fell awkwardly after a collision and subsequently left the ice.

Earlier in the game, he also appeared to take a puck off a hand. The 23-year-old missed an extended period of time this season when he fractured two fingers on his left hand.

It's not immediately clear which instance caused him to leave the game.
