Gotta See It: Maple Leafs’ Brooks Laich gets surprise attacked

Every kid imagines this moment, when their name is called and they’re invited to the stage in front of the whole hockey world.

Brooks Laich’s fiancee, Julianne Hough, threw the Toronto Maple Leafs forward a surprise birthday party that looked only a million times more fun than that time I sat alone in the basement and devoured an entree DQ ice cream cake sprinkled with tears.

To celebrate Laich’s turning 33 years old, Hough — a triple threat best known for Dancing with the Stars — arranged for the player’s friends to sneak-attack him with water balloons as he got out of his car.

Later, Laich and his pals orchestrated a pretty intricate pool touchdown.

Everything was preserved on Instagram. Fun stuff.

“You are amazing and you made it my favorite birthday yet!” Laich said of Hough in an Instagram post.

Birthday bash pool party touchdown!
