Bruins add depth, acquire John-Michael Liles from Hurricanes

Michael Grange joins Daren Millard to discuss the quantity and quality of trades across the 4 major sports on their Deadline Days, which has become too dependent on the league's salary cap situation.

The Boston Bruins added some defensive depth Monday by acquiring John-Michael Liles from the Carolina Hurricanes.

They sent third- and fifth-round picks plus prospect Anthony Camara to get the veteran blueliner.

Liles, 35, has 15 points in 64 games this season and is a pending unrestricted free agent.

The Hurricanes were one of the teams clearly in sell mode heading into the deadline, trading Eric Staal to the New York Rangers and Kris Versteeg to the Los Angeles Kings.
