Bruins’ Rask ‘OK’, practising after scary incident Thursday

Tuukka Rask had to leave for the dressing room after taking a slap shot from Roman Josi directly to the mask.

Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask is ‘OK’ after a scary incident on Thursday against the Nashville Predators.

Early in the first period, Predators’ defenceman Roman Josi took a slap shot, which appeared to hit Rask on the edge of the mask, also catching him in the neck area.

The Finn went down on the play and was forced to leave the game. He did not return.

Rask said he was fine following the game on Thursday, which the Bruins went on to win 2-1, and was also a participant at the team’s practice on Friday morning.

Head coach Claude Julien told reporters “Tuukka is good” for Saturday’s game against the Flyers following practice.

The 29-year-old has been dominant between the pipes this year in Boston, posting a 21-9-3 record with a 2.21 goals-against average and .926 save percentage.
