Bruins sign Brian Gionta for remainder of season

The Boston Bruins have signed forward Brian Gionta.

Gionta was a part of the United States’s Olympic hockey team at Pyeongchang.

He spent the past three seasons with the Buffalo Sabres.

The deal carries a pro-rated $700,000 cap hit.

The 39-year-old has 289 goals and 588 points in 1,006 career NHL games.
