The Boston Bruins have come to terms with restricted free agents Torey Krug and Reilly Smith, signing each to a $1.4 million, one-year deal.

Krug scored 14 goals and 40 points as a rookie last season, tied for tops among Bruins defencemen. The 23-year-old also added two goals and 10 points in 12 playoff games.

Smith, 23, scored 20 goals and 51 points despite averaging only 14:42 of ice time per game. The Toronto native was acquired in the trade that sent Tyler Seguin to Dallas.

Once Marc Savard’s long-term injury exemption kicks in, the Bruins will be $418,000 under the salary cap.

Both players will be restricted free agents next season.
