It’s been almost four years since then Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov became an HBO darling, after expressing his interest in outer space, specifically the “humongous” size of our universe.
His bemusement and curiosity of the cosmos was the highlight of that season’s edition of HBO 24/7, a documentary program leading up to the 2012 Winter Classic between the Flyers and the New York Rangers.
Bryzgalov, currently a free agent, was in Toronto for the Hall of Fame ceremonies, where he was approached by Steve Dangle, who questioned the goaltender about recent discoveries on Mars and the incoming photos of Pluto.
The Russian’s response was less than elaborate.
