Bryzgalov snubbed from Team Russia invite

How far has Ilya Bryzgalov’s stock fallen?

So far that the unrestricted free agent failed to be one of the five goaltenders invited to Team Russia’s preliminary training camp in advance of the 2014 games.

The Russian Hockey Federation announced the 35 players who will make up their preliminary Olympic roster for the 2014 Winter Games on Monday, and it’s a talent-heavy group that includes both the reigning NHL MVP (Alex Ovechkin) and reigning Vezina champion (Sergei Bobrovsky).

Russian hopefuls will gather for summer orientation camp Aug. 23 and 24 in Sochi. The home team will be coached by Zinetula Bilyaletdinov.
