Cam Fowler out at least 3 more weeks with sprained knee

After a scrum resulted in four Flyers going to the penalty box, they were then quickly joined by their captain Claude Giroux for his slash on Cam Fowler.

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Anaheim Ducks defenceman Cam Fowler will be sidelined for at least three more weeks with a sprained knee.

The Ducks announced the timetable for Fowler’s return Saturday.

Fowler was injured early in Anaheim’s victory over Philadelphia last week, and he has missed three straight games.

The Ducks say the U.S. Olympian is expected to sit out for four to six weeks after the injury occurred, possibly sidelining him through the All-Star break in late January.

Fowler leads the Ducks with more than 22 1/2 minutes of ice time per game. He had three goals and nine assists while playing in each of Anaheim’s first 34 games.

The Ducks already are without defenceman Simon Despres. He hasn’t played since mid-October while recovering from a concussion.
