Despite the pessimism surrounding the state of the NHL, there is one player who is very optimistic about a deal being reached and a shortened season beginning.
“We will, we will. Guaranteed we will,” Montreal Canadiens defenceman P.K. Subban said on the Marek vs. Wyshynski podcast on Friday in regards to the NHL, players reaching a deal and starting a shortened season.
All NHL games through Dec. 30 have been cancelled and a new deal would need to be in place by mid-January to salvage a 48-game schedule, the minimum NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says needs to be played.
