Canadiens acquire forward Andreas Martinsen from Avalanche

Eric Engels joins Kyle Bukauskas to talk about the moves the Montreal Canadiens made on deadline day.

The Montreal Canadiens have acquired forward Andreas Martinsen from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Sven Andrighetto.

The trade is essentially an exchange of bottom-six forwards.

Martinsen, 26, has three goals and four assists through 55 games for the Avalanche this season, averaging 9:38 of ice time per game. He has collected 146 hits this season (last year, in 55 games played, he picked up 155).

Across 110 career NHL games, the six-foot-three, 220-pounder has seven goals and 11 assists.

The Norwegian forward joined Colorado as a free agent in May of 2015 after spending three seasons with Düsseldorfer EG in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. He commands a salary of $640,000 this season and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
