As Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment continues its search for its next president, one name that has emerged as a contender for the job comes from a rival organization.
According to Sportsnet’s John Shannon and Elliotte Friedman (via the Headlines segment on Hockey Night in Canada), Chief Operating Officer of the Montreal Canadiens Kevin Gilmore’s name is being discussed.
In July, it was reported by Sportsnet’s Bob McCown that Tim Leiweke will continue his current role as president and CEO of MLSE for up to another year until a successor is found. In 2014, Leiweke announced he had decided he would leave the company by June 30, 2015 to pursue new opportunities in the sports and entertainment industry.
