MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens say forwards Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais will each be out six to eight weeks with a knee injury.

Galchenyuk, the team’s leading scorer with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists), was hurt in Montreal’s 5-4 shootout win at Los Angeles on Sunday.

Desharnais, who has three goals and six assists this season, was injured in the second period of Montreal’s 3-2 overtime loss at St. Louis last night.

As a result of the injuries, the Canadiens recalled forward Sven Andrighetto from the American Hockey League’s St. John’s IceCaps.

The Canadiens host the New Jersey Devils tomorrow night.
