The Montreal Canadiens are actively shopping back-up goaltender Jaroslav Halak.
Sources told Sportsnet that the Canadiens would need a top-six forward to part with 24-year-old Slovak netminder who is 6-4-0 with a .907 save percentage and 2.80 goals against average in 11 appearances for the club this season.
According to La Presse, the St. Louis Blues and Detroit Red Wings are among the teams that may be interested in acquiring Halak’s services.
Halak would be a solid trading chip for the Habs as he is stuck behind Carey Price in Montreal and has a bargain-priced salary at $775,000. However, Halak is set to become a restricted free agent this summer.
