The Montreal Canadiens’ mascot has another reason to be upset about losing the NHL’s Eastern Conference final.

Youppi! now has to wear a New York Rangers sweater around Montreal, much to the joy of late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon.

Fallon made a bet with the Canadiens over Twitter, raising the stakes of the best-of-seven series with the New York Rangers two weeks ago.

If the Canadiens won the series and advanced onto the Stanley Cup Final, Fallon would’ve had to wear a Canadiens sweater during one of his monologues on The Tonight Show. If the Rangers won, the Canadiens Twitter avatar would become a picture of Fallon’s choosing and Youppi! would have to wear a Rangers jersey in 10 photos all around Montreal.

The Canadiens lost 1-0 to the Rangers in Game 6 at Madison Square Garden, sending Youppi! home to make good on his word.

In good spirits, the Canadiens congratulated Fallon and said Youppi would stick to the agreement. Fallon sent out a tweet to his 12.8 million followers recognizing one Canadien player in particular:

Rookie Dustin Tokarski won one of three starts filling in for the injured Carey Price and finished with 31 saves in a losing cause Thursday night.

Fallon, who was born in Brooklyn, has already called out one location in Montreal he wants Youppi! to represent the Rangers:

The Canadiens are waiting for their picture from Fallon that will take the place of their current Twitter avatar on Sunday, the same day Youppi! will strut around the Rangers jersey.

Watch out for flying food, Youppi!
