The Montreal Canadiens will look to build on momentum gained earlier this week from their 3-1 victory over the visiting Vancouver Canucks when they take on the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night as 5/8 moneyline favourites.
The Habs’ win over Vancouver brought a halt to the club’s three-game SU (straight up) losing streak. Montreal had lost six of its previous seven overall, tumbling them from top spot in the NHL standings with their Stanley Cup odds also falling slightly to 16/1 at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Canadiens enjoy a rare weekend off following their meeting with the defending Stanley Cup champions, after becoming the first Eastern Conference team to reach the 30-game mark, returning to action with three home games next week.
The NHL’s worst host the NHL’s best on Friday night when the Edmonton Oilers take on the Anaheim Ducks as 1/1 hometown moneyline underdogs on the NHL betting lines.

Edmonton is a dismal 1-13 SU in their last 14 heading into Friday’s Ducks vs Oilers game at Rexall Place, and has recorded just one SU win on home ice since Oct. 27. However, the Oilers have enjoyed some recent success over Anaheim, topping the Ducks in their two most recent visits in Edmonton late last season.
The Oilers play their fourth game in six nights when they face the New York Rangers on Sunday night. It’s the second meeting of the year between the clubs following Edmonton’s 3-1 win over the Blueshirts as 17/10 moneyline underdogs at Madison Square Garden a month ago.
The Rangers, who have won five of their last eight SU heading into the weekend, struggled in the early going and currently sit outside the Eastern Conference playoff picture with just 28 points in their first 26 games, and trail the favorites in Stanley Cup betting with 25/1 odds.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will look to continue their winning ways when they take on the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night. The meeting is the second between the long time rivals in four days, following the Leafs’ 2-1 shootout victory over the Wings.
The Maple Leafs, SU winners in seven of their last nine, rank second in the NHL with 95 goals scored and have seen the goal total finish OVER in 12 of their last 16 outings.
