Canucks assign Jordan Subban, six others to AHL camp

The Los Angeles Kings blew a 2-0 lead but would eventually make up for it in a shootout as they defeated the Vancouver Canucks 4-3 in the second pre-season game in China between the two clubs.

The Vancouver Canucks have assigned seven players, including defenceman Jordan Subban, to training camp with the AHL’s Utica Comets.

Subban, the younger brother of Nashville’s P.K. Subban, has spent that last two seasons with Utica after being drafted in the fourth round by Vancouver in 2013.

Other players assigned to Utica on Saturday include forwards Michael Carcone, Yan-Pavel Laplante, Zack MacEwen and Griffen Molino as well as defencemen Evan McEneny and Ashton Sautner.

The Canucks also announced that defenceman Aaron Irving and forwards Alexis D’Aoust and Brett McKenzie would be attending Comets training camp.
