Canucks defenceman Stecher leaves game vs. Jets with injury

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Troy Stecher has left the team’s game against the Winnipeg Jets with an upper body injury.

The team announced that he would not return.

The injury occurred in the first period. Stecher slid into the boards behind Canucks goalie Ryan Miller and was slow to get up.

Stecher, 22, is in his first season with the Canucks. He has three goals and 21 assists in 64 games.
