Canucks’ Del Zotto on McDavid’s speed: ‘Like a cheat code in a video game’

Vancouver Canucks defenceman Michael Del Zotto talks about his teams upcoming match up against the Edmonton Oilers and how Connor McDavid's speed is just off the charts.

When The Edmonton Oilers visit Vancouver on Saturday night, Canucks defenceman Michael Del Zotto will get to see something usually reserved for his video game system.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid netted a hat trick in his club’s season opener on Wednesday and Del Zotto was paying close attention.

When asked by a reporter on Friday what makes McDavid so dangerous, Del Zotto offered the ultimate stick tap.

“It’s his speed,” Del Zotto said. “He gets from first to sixth speed in about two steps. I can’t remember if I’ve ever seen a guy, like last game, (have) a breakaway from his own goal line.

“It’s like a cheat code in a video game.”

Here’s the play Del Zotto was talking about.
