Canucks’ Miller injured after awkward collision

Watch as Ryan Miller goes down in a heap after teammate Jannik Hansen collides with him in the net, seemingly injuring the goalie's leg. Eddie Lack came in to relieve Miller against the Islanders.

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Vancouver Canucks goaltender Ryan Miller left Sunday night’s game against the New York Islanders with an apparent leg injury sustained early in the second period.

Miller was run into by teammate Jannik Hansen in the crease. He was down and in pain after the collision and appeared to be flexing his right leg as he left the ice.

Backup Eddie Lack replaced Miller at 1:11 of the middle period.

The 34-year-old Miller was expected to return to Buffalo when the Canucks visit the Sabres on Thursday. He played 11 seasons for Buffalo before he was traded to St. Louis late last season. He joined Vancouver as a free agent last summer.
