Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning announced the team has signed forward Brock Boeser to an entry-level contract.

The 20-year-old tallied 16 goals and 18 assists in 32 games for the University of North Dakota last season while missing part of the year and the World Junior Championships with a wrist injury.

Boeser’s college career ended Friday night when his team fell 4-3 in double overtime to Boston University in the first round of the NCAA Hockey Championship.

In his 2015-16 freshman season, Boeser led the NCHC in scoring with 60 points in 42 games and finished third in the national scoring race.

Boeser is expected to play for the Canucks when they take on the Minnesota Wild on Saturday and will wear No. 6.
