Nucks sign NCAA defenceman Oberg

VANCOUVER — University of Minnesota-Duluth defenceman Evan Oberg signed with the Vancouver Canucks on Friday.

Oberg, a 21-year-old free agent from Camrose, Alta., had seven goals with 20 assists in 43 games with the Bulldogs this season.

The six-foot, 170-pound Oberg was also named to the NCAA West Regional All-Tournament Team.

He spent two years at Minnesota-Duluth after playing two seasons with the Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League.
