The Vancouver Canucks placed left-winger Darcy Hordichuk and defenceman Shane O’Brien on waivers Saturday afternoon.
In 56 games with the Canucks last season, Hordichuk recorded only two points to go along with his 142 penalty minutes. Originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in 2000, Hordichuk has also played with the Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes and Florida Panthers.
O’Brien, who has spent the last two seasons with the Canucks, registered two goals and six assists in 65 regular season appearances last year. He was drafted 250th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in 2003.
