NHL cap expected to jump to ‘mid-to-low’ $70M

NHL teams can stop worrying about a flat salary cap.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, early estimates are that the cap will be end up somewhere in the “mid-to-low” $70 million range next season.

That would be an increase on the $69 million salary cap that is in place for the 2014-15 season, per CapGeek.

The future of the salary cap is generally a prominent topic of discussion at the league’s Board of Governors meeting in December.
