Capitals’ Sill to have hearing for boarding Bruins’ McQuaid

Adam McQuaid leaves Tuesday's game against Washington, after taking a dangerous hit from Zach Sill with no penalty called on the play.

Zach Sill will have a hearing with the NHL’s department of player safety Wednesday.

The Washington Capitals centreman hit Adam McQuaid from behind along the boards during the second period of Tuesday’s game against the Boston Bruins. (See video, above.)

No penalty was called on the play. McQuaid left the game with an upper-body injury, and while no update was offered post-game, the defenceman was not on the ice for the Bruins’ practice Wednesday morning.
