Sens, Neil agree on 3-year extension

The Ottawa Senators and forward Chris Neil have a verbal agreement on a three-year contract extension.

The 32-year old has one year left on his current contract worth $2 million annually. Neil’s new three-year deal, which will kick in next summer, is reported to be worth $5.75 million.

In 72 games with the Senators last season, Neil finished with 13 goals, 28 points and 178 PIM. He has 90 goals and 110 assists with 1,861 PIM in 731 career games.
The Senators drafted Neil in the sixth round, 161st overall, in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
