“If you guys don’t put McDavid on the cover, you’re stupid.”
We found out in June that Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid would be the cover of EA Sports’ NHL 18 this season, and I guess we now know why.
McDavid tweeted out a video of himself dressing up as various fans campaigning for him to be given the glamorous honour… and it’s quite a hoot.
Among the characters McDavid plays, there’s Cam (“maybe his brother”), a Johnny Anonymous (“I actually hate the Oilers,” declares his muffled voice), and of course lovable stats nerd Allen, from “hockeyanalyticsandstuff.com”, who was there to point out that McDavid’s Corsi last season was “through the roof.”
“Has to be McDavid,” Allen continued.
There’s also an appearance from a man named Adam (the only character not played by McDavid), because why not at that point?
The best disguise of the whole video though was probably McDavid pretending to have a personality. Have a look and see for yourself.
