Coyotes claim Josh Jooris off waivers from Rangers

Mike Smith was the hero, stopping 44 of 45 Predators shots in the Arizona Coyotes 4-1 win over Nashville.

The Arizona Coyotes continued to add to their roster on Sunday, claiming forward Josh Jooris off waivers from the New York Rangers.

Jooris had one goal and one assist in 12 games with the Rangers this season.

The 26-year old signed a one-year deal with New York in July after the Calgary Flames failed to extend his contract. Jooris had 37 points over two seasons with the Flames.

The move by Arizona comes after the team acquired centre Peter Holland on Friday from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Coyotes also lost forward Max Domi to an upper body injury and placed him on injured reserve Saturday. His injury is considered week-to-week.
