Coyotes’ Jakob Chychrun out indefinitely following knee surgery

Jakob Chychrun couldn’t have scored on a more difficult opponent for his first career goal, beating Carey Price and getting the Coyotes on the board.

Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun underwent successful knee surgery Thursday and will be out indefinitely.

Chychrun suffered the injury during off-season training. He is expected to make a full recovery and the Coyotes will provide an update once training camp begins on Sept. 14.

The 19-year-old scored seven goals and registered 13 assists in his rookie campaign with the Coyotes in 2016-17. Chychrun was selected by Arizona in the first round of the 2016 draft.
