Rieder, 23, had a strong year in 2015-16 — his second NHL season. The RFA winger registered 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points in 82 games.
The native of Landshut, Germany, helped Team Europe reach the final at the recent World Cup of Hockey, earning one assist and tallying seven shots in six games.
Rieder’s agent announced last week that his client would not be attending Coyotes training camp until the contract issue was resolved.
