Ducks land forward Lombardi from Coyotes

Matthew Lombardi is reportedly back in the NHL after spending one year with Geneve-Servette.

The Phoenix Coyotes traded forward Matthew Lombardi to the Anaheim Ducks for forward Brandon McMillan on Wednesday.

Lombardi has a $3.5 million cap hit and will become an unrestricted free agent this season. The 31-year-old has four goals and eight points in 21 games with the Coyotes this season.

The Coyotes acquired Lombardi from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a conditional third-round pick in January.

McMillan, 23, was the Ducks’ third-round pick (85th overall) in 2008. In six games with the Ducks this season, McMillan has one assist.
