Craig Anderson leaves Senators game with injury

Ottawa fans are holding their breath after seeing Craig Anderson stagger off the ice with an injury that Blues broadcasters say look eerily similar to the one that has Brian Elliott benched for the last while.

Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson left Tuesday’s game with an apparent injury.

Anderson appeared to be in discomfort after extending his leg in the crease. He left the game with 6:19 remaining in the second period with the Senators down 3-1 to the St. Louis Blues. Andrew Hammond replaced him in goal.

Anderson has appeared in 51 games this season, winning 27 games and sporting a 2.78 GAA and .917 save percentage.

At the time of the injury, the Senators sat six points out of a playoff spot with 18 games remaining after Tuesday.
