Dallas Stars president Jim Lites issued the following statement Wednesday addressing comments made by forwards Jamie Benn and Tyler Seguin:

“Jamie Benn has reached out to Henrik and Daniel Sedin to apologize for the radio interview that he was a part of on Monday. The Dallas Stars have the utmost respect for the contributions that the two have made to both the game and to their community over the course of their great careers. We will not be commenting on the situation further.”

During an appearance on Dallas 1310 The Ticket’s Bob and Dan Show Tuesday, the linemates made some classless, off-the-cuff remarks regarding the Vancouver Canucks stars.

“I think it says more about them than it does about us,” Henrik Sedin told TSN 1040 radio in Vancouver Tuesday night.

The Stars’ next game against the Canucks takes place March 28 in Vancouver.
