Ex-Maple Leaf, Canuck Booth flying to KHL?

Watch as David Booth plays keep-away from Senators defenceman Mark Borowiecki to create a great chance against Andrew Hammond.

Free agent David Booth appears to have found his next job.

According to KHL News and some Instagram posts from both Booth and his wife, Ashley, it looks as if he will join the KHL’s Admiral Vladivostok.

“Can’t wait to see our new temporary home. #Vladivostok @hcadmiral,” Ashley posted on Instagram Thursday, with an image of her and David on the airplane:

The 30-year-old winger played 59 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2014-15, scoring seven goals and adding six assists, but Toronto chose not to re-sign him at the end of last season.

Booth, a Detroit native, was invited to try out for his original NHL club, the Florida Panthers, in September but was released shortly thereafter.

In 502 NHL games with the Panthers, Leafs and Vancouver Canucks, he has scored 120 goals and 231 points.

Booth’s quest for a new job is being documented on television, thanks to Hockey Wives.

Fun fact: Admiral is run by another former Maple Leaf. Alexander Mogilny serves as the KHL team’s president.
