The Detroit Red Wings signed forward Tomas Jurco to an entry-level contract on Tuesday.
Jurco played three seasons with the QMJHL’s Saint John Sea Dogs, scoring 87 goals and adding 88 assists in 172 regular season games.
The 19-year-old from Kosice, Slovakia won the MasterCard Memorial Cup with the Sea Dogs in 2011 and represented his home country in the 2011 and 2012 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championships.
Jurco was selected in the second round, 35th overall, by the Red Wings in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
