Devils add forward depth, sign Vernon Fiddler to one-year deal

The New Jersey Devils signed veteran forward Vernon Fiddler on the first day of NHL free agency.

Fiddler, 36, will earn $1.25 million on a one-year deal, the team confirmed in a press release.

He scored 12 goals with 10 assists in 82 regular-season games last season before adding a goal and an assist in 13 playoff games with Dallas.

The Alberta native has appeared in 818 career NHL games with the Stars, Arizona Coyotes, and Nashville Predators.
